Citation Indexes & Google Scholar

In addition to doing searches on your topic, you can use these databases to find find which articles have cited a certain author or article. This technique of doing research, called pearl growing, allows researchers to find articles that are related to an earlier work.

Web of Science
Search the Science, Social Sciences, and Arts and Humanities Citation Indexes covering over 8,000 journals.

Google Scholar
You can also use Google Scholar to search for a known article and find other articles that cite it. Search for the authors' names and the title of the article. Once you find your article, click the "cited by" link underneath the article snippet to find sources that cite the original article.
